Translation

“A foreigner who passes himself off as a citizen shall be sold into slavery”. A rich man and a poor man were enemies. They appeared to become reconciled. Charged with being an alien, the poor man is sold into slavery. The rich man bought him and gave him to his son as his paedagogus. The youth was killed when surprised in the act of adultery. The paedagogus is led off for crucifixion. He appeals to the tribunes on the grounds that this constituted unjust punishment.
