Pauper et dives inimici. Pauperi duae filiae. Belli tempore, promisit se dives fortiter facturum, si in matrimonium sibi pauperis una filia daretur. Populus, tacente paupere, decrevit. Dives fortiter fecit. Puella se interemit. Petit dives aliam. Pauper c.d.

Translation

A poor man and a rich man were enemies. The poor man had two daughters. In war time the rich man guaranteed that he would fight heroically if one of the poor man's daughters was given to him in marriage. While the poor man kept his silence, the state so decreed. The rich man fought heroically. The girl committed suicide. The rich man asks for the hand of the other daughter. The poor man speaks in opposition.
